Defence Export Controls Policy Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced policy officer to join our team in Defence Export Controls Branch.
As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping Australia's defence export control system. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver informed and timely outcomes for Defence.
You will be responsible for undertaking complex policy research, analysis, and development to drive best practice policy support. This includes implementing new legislation, addressing recommendations from reviews, and keeping up-to-date with changes to relevant Defence Export Control laws and regulations.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent judgement, problem-solving skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. You will also be an effective communicator, able to write clear and concise reports, and make presentations to various audiences.
A key aspect of this role is your ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities. You will be required to be flexible and innovative in your approach, working collaboratively with the rest of the team to achieve shared goals.
In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary package, including $83,706 - $89,659 + up to 15.4% Superannuation. Additionally, you will have access to professional development opportunities to help you grow and succeed in your career.
