Key Responsibilities of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers

The primary function of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is to ensure the technical integrity and airworthiness of aircraft systems and components. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of complex avionic systems.

As part of this position, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, inspecting aircraft systems, and diagnosing faults. Your expertise will also be utilized to undertake scheduled servicing and respond to unscheduled maintenance requirements.

Effective communication with the team is crucial in this role, as you will work closely with the Team Leader to deliver high-quality results that meet all regulatory and airworthiness standards.

In addition to your technical skills, you must possess excellent documentation skills, ensuring accurate and timely completion of engineering advice, defect reporting, maintenance deficiencies, and publication amendments as directed.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on aircraft systems and components
  • Inspect and diagnose faults in avionic systems
  • Undertake scheduled servicing and respond to unscheduled maintenance requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this challenging role, you will require a Certificate IV in Aeroskills – Avionics or equivalent qualification. Additionally, you must be an Australian Citizen capable of obtaining a Federal Government Security Clearance. Strong experience working with Defence Aircraft is highly desirable.
