The role involves leading assurance reviews, developing a structured assurance plan, and providing insightful reports to contribute to the continued uplift in the efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment.

Our ideal candidate will have proven assurance experience, extensive experience in operational and compliance governance risk roles, technical knowledge in non-financial risk disciplines, and strong project management and change management expertise.

About the Role
  • This is a 12 month contract position with a minimum of three days per week based out of our corporate offices.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead, plan and perform Line 2 assurance and oversight of Line 1 through structured assurance reviews, oversight, challenge and support on all non-financial risk matters.
  2. Develop and execute against a structured, risk-based assurance plan, whilst also creating capacity for other targeted reviews as required.
  3. Provide structured and insightful assurance reports with clear actions and recommendations as necessary to contribute to the continued uplift in the efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment and the implementation of the Risk Management Framework.
  4. Providing non-financial risk reporting to Divisions, Business Units and management and board committees as required.
Requirements
  1. Proven assurance experience in developing and executing against an Assurance plan.
  2. Extensive experience in a similar operational and compliance, governance risk role in banking or professional services firm.
  3. Technical knowledge and experience in non-financial risk disciplines and functions, including but not limited to operational risk, compliance, business continuity, policy, framework, project risk, operational resilience and IT/Data risk.
  4. Ability to develop strategic, commercially viable, and fit-for-purpose solutions, demonstrating a pragmatic approach to implementing and advancing the Group's Operational Risk Management Framework
  5. Proven project management and change management expertise.
  6. Experience with review of complex risk issues and root cause analysis.
  7. Sound negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills.
