As a Patrol Officer with Townsville City Council, you will be responsible for taking appropriate compliance and enforcement action on breaches, participating in coaching, mentoring, and training to develop necessary skills and knowledge, and working within the Regulation Team to ensure flexibility in resource allocation to achieve outcomes across the unit, teams, and council.
This role involves building and maintaining key working relationships with customers and suppliers, delivering efficient and effective patrol services to ensure consistent presence in the community, and ensuring open spaces are used appropriately for various users. You will provide subject matter expertise on patrols in the city, investigate customer enquiries, and implement corrective actions or advice where necessary.
To succeed in this role, you will require investigation skills, including gathering and presenting evidence, and experience in making sustainable, subjective assessments related to investigations using experience and training. Advanced interpersonal, written, oral, organisational, and communication skills are essential.
The ideal candidate will possess a Cert III in an investigatory, regulatory, or local government discipline, a current unrestricted Queensland 'C' class driver's license, Child Suitability (Blue Card) or the ability to obtain, intermediate skills in Microsoft applications, and experience in Technology One, software applicants, or other similar local government business management systems.
We offer a competitive salary package, including:
- $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience
- 17.5% annual leave loading
