The roles, responsibilities and duties of a Security Officer can be performed in many different sectors and varying roles. This Position Description outlines the general duties in line with specific role types and acts as a guide rather than a comprehensive list of tasks.

About the Role

MSS Security is seeking a dedicated Security Officers to enhance our team at a Shopping Centre in Townsville. In this vital role, you'll help ensure the safety and security of all patrons at the client site.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a crucial part of our security team while enjoying competitive benefits and bonuses. In this role you are expected to:

  • Ensuring Safety: Providing security, guarding specific areas, and managing crowds.
  • Patrolling: Walking around the premises and making sure local rules are followed.
  • Monitoring: Review CCTV footage
  • Emergency Response: Liaise with Police and emergency services on incidents
  • Handling Requests: Responding quickly and professionally to questions and emergencies.

What we are looking for

  • QLD Security Licence (unarmed, monitoring and crowd control)
  • Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Current Driver’s Licence and your own means of transportation
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Availability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster that includes nights and weekends
