About the JobWe are seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our team in Bordertown. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for delivering preventative, corrective maintenance, emergency response activities, and new construction projects on complex water and wastewater systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake construction, maintenance, and operational tasks on water and wastewater systems.
- Lead investigations, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.
- Perform environmental reporting and acquire relevant permits and approvals.
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and perform manual handling tasks.
- Ensure safety is the top priority, taking responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others.
- Use technology systems and programs in accordance with procedures and complete electronic reporting.
- Deliver excellent customer service, representing SA Water in the community and striving for a customer-focused approach.
- Be willing to work on call and participate in an on-call roster.
- Skilled in the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, small machinery, and various vehicles.
- Previous trade qualifications are desirable.
- Truck, excavator, and traffic management tickets are desirable.
- A valid driver's license is essential.
- A White Card or willingness to obtain one is required.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and occasional overtime.
We are looking for a proactive individual with a 'can-do' attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team. You will demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills, striving for optimal outcomes and resolution.
This role commences at $63,232.72 per annum, dependent on skills and experience. Please note that immunisations relevant to this position and location are mandatory, including Hepatitis A & B and Q Fever.
