Job Overview:

The Head of Merchandise Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of merchandise operations to drive performance and growth across the portfolio.

Leading the development and execution of the merchandise strategy is key to achieving optimal results. This involves managing trade plans, range reviews, and space planning to maximize return on space while delivering great availability for stores and customers.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role requires strong collaboration and communication skills to ensure seamless execution and optimize merchandise results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Trade Plans: Drive sales and profit growth through effective trade plan management.
  • Range Reviews and Space Planning: Maximize return on space by conducting regular range reviews and optimizing space allocation.
  • Availability and Working Capital Management: Ensure great availability for stores and customers while effectively managing working capital and clearance outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to utilize data and customer insights to optimize merchandise results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and enhance merchandise capability.
  • Excellent Execution: Manage cross-functional relationships to ensure excellent execution of merchandise strategies.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 15 years in sales, with 10 years in management roles.
  • Design and Implementation Skills: Hands-on experience in design and implementation, with the ability to articulate pain points and solutions.
  • Strategic and Collaborative Approach: Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across teams and departments.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Business or a related field.
