Financial Strategist Role

Job Summary:

Our organisation is seeking a skilled Financial Strategist to play a key role in driving financial and operational success. This position will be critical in ensuring stakeholders have accurate information to inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take overall responsibility for the business unit's P&L, working closely with the Site Manager to deliver agreed-upon financial targets.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting - encompassing sales revenue and profit.
  • Participate actively in sales and operations planning processes.
  • Support the Site Manager in operational, cost, and profit improvement initiatives.
  • Manage business cash flow by proactively managing working capital and capital expenditure.
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate internal controls at the sites and compliance with the latest Accounting Standards and Corporate Governance policies.
  • Serve as a key finance partner in developing and executing the business unit's long-term strategic plan.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in management or cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • A deep understanding of standard costing practices in manufacturing, including cost allocation and sensitivity analysis, preferably with SAP experience.
  • High-level analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and drive results.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills to work effectively at all levels.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, capable of navigating ambiguity and making informed decisions even with incomplete information.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Business are essential, with a CPA/CA qualification required.
