We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Commissioning Engineer to support the testing and commissioning activities of a multi-disciplined digital railway system project.

About the Position

This role provides technical support to the testing and commissioning activities of a multi-disciplined digital railway system project and coordinates the associated railway systems integration.

Responsibilities
  • Leads T&C activities for multiple work packages and supports the program T&C manager in ensuring timely completion.
  • Manages inter-alliance stakeholder relationships, promoting effective collaboration and communication.
  • Works with signalling testers and commissioning engineers to plan and execute T&C works, ensuring alignment with Work, Health and Safety requirements.
  • Responsible for schedule management of the work package, coordinating resources and timelines to meet project objectives.
  • E nsures that test and commissioning activities are executed efficiently, with minimal disruptions to the project timeline.
  • Oversight of the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all Test documentation.
  • Technical review of all test documentation to ensure test coverage is robust and comprehensive.
  • Ensuring the timely production of Sub-System and System Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports at the work package level.
  • Supports site interface management with stakeholders during the test and commissioning planning and execution phase.
  • Develops strategy for future work packages and supports bids, driving business growth and expansion.
  • Ensures test documentation complies with relevant standards and regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • IRSE Tester in Charge License or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role in the Rail Signal industry, demonstrating capability and skills in:
    • Complex system integration.
    • Understanding how testing supports Systems Assurance activities.
    • Railway equipment and environment expertise.
    • Proficiency in Test tools and Database management.
    • Familiarity with ERP and Configuration Management tools.
    • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
