Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Transport Advisory team, specialising in railway operations and strategic projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of existing rail operations and develop new work, with ongoing involvement in major projects and support from global rail operations expertise.

The successful candidate will provide advisory services across light rail, metro, passenger, and freight rail, including operational concepts and maintenance plans, rail corridor and network capacity analysis, and service plan and timetable development.

You will collaborate with project teams, represent our organisation to key clients and stakeholders, and oversee consultancy assignments from start to finish. A degree qualification in engineering, transport planning or a relevant discipline is essential, as well as experience with railway operations simulation tools and test and commissioning.

Able to manage time and workloads to deliver technical outputs across multiple projects, you will also have excellent communication skills, able to convey complex ideas to non-specialists through writing, drawing and presentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in engineering, transport planning or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with railway operations simulation tools (notably RailSys or OpenTrack), test and commissioning, systems integration or modern signalling systems (including ETCS).
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to non-specialists, including writing, drawing and presentation skills.
