Job Title

We are seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to join our team as a Case Support Worker. This is a targeted vacancy, and it is an occupational requirement for the position to be undertaken by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide support to business unit staff to ensure service delivery meets departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Follow guidelines and implement processes related to records management, finance, and other administrative and practice-related policies and procedures.
  • Provide culturally appropriate support to children, families, and stakeholders, including referrals, information provision, advocacy, and consultation.
  • Consult and liaise with relevant stakeholders, including families, community members, and Elders, to support and maintain appropriate casework and achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and participate effectively as a team member.
  • Maintain accessible and clear case records in accordance with departmental requirements.
  • Collect information and use databases to support key functions of the business unit.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge relevant to the role and participate in learning and development activities.

Your Mandatory Requirements

  • You must be able to recognize and articulate the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and have the capacity to consult and negotiate according to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols.
  • You should understand the issues impacting both cultures in contemporary society.
