Job Title: Economic Development Officer

The Moreton Bay Region is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to provide planning and project support for the delivery of economic development objectives.

This role will involve working closely with the Economic Development - Industry Advancement team to support local small businesses, identify and overcome challenges, develop skills, and access key information required to achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality support for the delivery of Small Business Friendly Council programs;
  • Coordinating annual reporting on this initiative;
  • Identifying and accelerating existing programs by other stakeholders, as well as potential funding sources;
  • Fostering and maintaining deep, respectful, collaborative relationships with all team members and stakeholders;
  • Representing the council in the Moreton Bay business community;
  • Reporting up-to-date business-community intelligence and outcomes from programs developed to assist with better decision-making, resource allocation, and prioritisation;

We are looking for someone who is passionate about assisting local businesses, has strong written, communication, and interpersonal skills, and is able to work alongside businesses in a supportive and proactive way.
