About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and daily safety walk-throughs to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement effective safety training programs for employees, including emergency procedures and standard operating procedures.
- Provide advice and support to management on safety-related issues and promote a positive safety culture.
- Conduct risk assessments and updates of standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the management of workers' compensation claims and ensure timely reporting of incidents.
About You
- 1-2 years' experience in a WHS role, preferably in the food industry.
- Qualification in WHS (Cert IV or Diploma) and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook, and skilled in training and coaching staff.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
