Primary Systems High Voltage Design Engineer

The role of a Primary Systems High Voltage Design Engineer is to lead the design and implementation of high voltage electrical systems. This includes developing detailed designs, conducting site visits, and collaborating with other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed design of HV substations and networks following relevant standards
- Plan and conduct professional engineering works, including site installation and commissioning
- Develop technical specifications for HV switchgear, distribution transformers, and battery chargers
- Substation layouts considering clearances as per Australian Standards
- HV cable design, insulation coordination, and lightning protection
- Meet with customers to resolve technical issues
Requirements:
- University degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (or equivalent)
- 12+ years minimum relevant experience in HV substation and HV distribution network
- Knowledge of HV primary design, including relevant Australian and International standards and codes
- Solid understanding of the interface requirements of civil/structural aspects of HV substations
- Site experience or experience in projects being constructed and commissioned
- Chartered status, including RPEQ, NER & CPEng desirable
