Job Description

The Project Engineer plays a key role in assisting the CFT Custom Build Manager and Project Managers with successful project completion from inception to close out. Key responsibilities include:

  • Organising and planning projects within ISO9001 guidelines;
  • Attending project sites nationally during planning and construction phases to supervise, document and drive progress of onsite activities;
  • Preparing and implementing various project plans, including Project Management Plans, Safety Management Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, Document Control, Transport and Logistics, SWMS, Community and Environmental Plans;
  • Analysing data during design, planning and construction stages of projects to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met;
  • Assisting with obtaining relevant state and local permits to achieve project timelines;
  • Managing procurement needs of projects;
  • Arranging material dispatches to clients by booking transport and generating load schedules for production staff to utilise when loading trucks;
  • Communicating effectively with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Working to nominated budgets and tracking project progress;
  • Generating project close out reports at the completion of project.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Strong analytical skills, prioritisation, planning and organisational abilities;
  • The ability to guide a team of engineers, drafters and site personnel to project targets;
  • The ability to prepare and maintain project plans, purchase requisitions, product claims specifications and design specifications;
  • AutoCAD / Solidworks experience (desirable);
  • The ability to apply expertise and solve problems in a logical manner;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility, adaptability and versatility of approach to handle changing work requirements;
  • Four years' experience in a similar role (desirable).
