About the Role

The Work Health and Safety Advisor plays a critical role in promoting health and safety across Warrigal's services in Regional NSW and the ACT. This position is essential for identifying hazards and developing tailored mitigation strategies that meet the unique needs of diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead thorough incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct comprehensive safety audits to ensure compliance with WHS regulations.
  • Provide expert guidance to property teams and staff on health and safety matters.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs, including WHS inductions for new employees.
  • Foster a positive safety culture that encourages proactive hazard reporting and the implementation of safety initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, and participate in risk assessments.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Substantial experience in a WHS advisory role or similar.
  • Proven expertise in conducting incident investigations, leading safety audits, and developing hazard mitigation strategies.
  • Experience managing emergency response activities, including fire drills and WHS inductions for new staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and standards in various work environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for providing expert advice and tailored training.
  • Capacity to influence and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for risk assessment and hazard control.
  • First aid certificate.
  • Current NSW or ACT Driver's license.
