Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). They must also have 10-15 years of proven engineering experience, preferably in steel fabrication or heavy industrial sectors. Advanced CAD skills, particularly with Solid Edge, are highly regarded. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Engineers, Draftsmen, and Manufacturing Specialists, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure project success.
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality engineering projects, ensuring compliance with Australian and International standards.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including Production, Sales, and Quality, to align design outcomes with business goals.
  • Manage resources, workflows, and project priorities to meet delivery targets, upholding the company's values and culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
  • 10-15 years proven engineering application experience, ideally in steel fabrication or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Advanced CAD skills - Solid Edge experience highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong background in engineering design, process optimisation and standards compliance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.
