
Aboriginal Partnerships Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Partnerships Officer. This role will play a key part in supporting the implementation of our cultural heritage strategy and promoting community wellbeing and self-determination.
The successful candidate will have experience in community engagement, partnerships, or project delivery, particularly working with or alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities. They will understand the importance of respectful relationships and be passionate about supporting programs that celebrate culture and improve access to services such as education, health, and training.
The officer will work closely with our Principal Advisor Aboriginal Partnerships and other teams across Council to ensure initiatives are meaningful and well-coordinated. They will also contribute to Council's NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week activities and facilitate community participation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities
- Support the implementation of our cultural heritage strategy and promote community wellbeing and self-determination
- Contribute to the development of initiatives and events that acknowledge the perspectives, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Facilitate community participation in Council's NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week activities
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in community engagement, partnerships, or project delivery
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Passion for promoting community wellbeing and self-determination
