Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Work, Health and Safety Coordinator.

This role involves leading, advising and reporting on Work, Health and Safety strategies, plans and initiatives for Transperth Train Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and reviewing workplace health and safety requirements, including developing strategies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and internal policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing WHS programs and projects, preferably in rail or complex operational environments. They should also possess strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as leadership and team management abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and Implementing WHS Strategies: Assist in the development of a divisional implementation strategy for the provision of a comprehensive and integrated WHS system for Transperth Train Operations.
  • WHS Hazard Identification and Control: Identify, assess and manage WHS hazards and issues within Transperth Train Operations.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training sessions to increase awareness of WHS requirements and obligations.
  • Safety Investigations and Reporting: Undertake safety investigations and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Support workplace consultation, safe work practices, injured employee management, and contribute to WHS policy and procedure development.
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Experience in implementing WHS programs and projects, preferably in rail or complex operational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake safety investigations, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and interpret and apply legislation and standards.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
