Building Craftsman

Carpenters are skilled tradespeople responsible for creating structures from wood and other materials in various settings, including residential and commercial construction.

• Occupational Health and Safety Regulations must be followed at all times.
• Effective communication with colleagues is crucial for planning work organisation.
• Performing calculations, measurements, and installation of various carpentry structures requires attention to detail.
• Stacking and handling carpentry tools and materials properly ensures workplace safety.
• Analyzing and interpreting plans and specifications is essential for accurate construction.
• Levelling operations and setting out areas require precision and accuracy.
• Constructing ceiling frames, wall frames, roofs, eaves, floors, and installing wet area fixtures demands expertise.
• Installing windows, doors, door frames, and constructing stairs using levels or other equipment requires skill.
• Erecting scaffolding for building structures above ground levels necessitates careful planning and execution.
• Identifying defective or damaged structures is critical for ensuring workplace safety.
• Keeping the worksite clean and free from debris is essential for maintaining a safe working environment.

To be considered for this role, you should:

• Hold an AQF Certificate III in Carpentry.
• Have at least 3 years' work experience.
• Be able to work well with other team members.
• Follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
• Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and handle stress.
• Be willing to commit beyond normal working hours when required.
