We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indigenous Community Program Lead to join our team at Workstars. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to lead our community programs and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

Job Description

The Indigenous Community Program Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of community programs that support the health, wellbeing, and economic empowerment of Indigenous Australians. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience working in community development, program management, and Indigenous affairs. They will possess a deep understanding of the social determinants of health, cultural competence, and the importance of building strong relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.

This role offers a competitive salary package of $85,000 - $95,000 per annum, depending on experience. The salary range reflects the company's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent while also ensuring that compensation is commensurate with industry standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement community programs that address the specific needs and priorities of Indigenous Australians;
  2. Lead a team of program coordinators and staff to deliver high-quality services and achieve program objectives;
  3. Foster strong relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and partners to ensure effective collaboration and co-design of programs;
  4. Maintain accurate records, reports, and data to monitor program performance and make informed decisions;
  5. Cultivate and manage partnerships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private sector entities to leverage resources and expertise;
  6. Stay up-to-date with best practices, research, and policy developments in community development, Indigenous affairs, and related fields;
  7. Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the effective delivery of community programs.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in community development, program management, or Indigenous affairs;
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams, managing budgets, and achieving program outcomes;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders;
  • Deep understanding of Indigenous culture, history, and experiences, as well as the social determinants of health and wellbeing;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with community leaders, stakeholders, and partners to design and deliver effective programs;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making;
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
