Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Apprentice

We are seeking highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our Qantas Group Engineering team as Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Apprentices. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in aviation and become a part of our esteemed engineering community.

About the Role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Apprentice, you will have the chance to work alongside experienced engineers and be part of a dynamic team that maintains the safety and performance of our aircraft fleet. You will rotate through various business areas applicable to the relevant trade, receiving hands-on training on Qantas Group and customer aircraft.

Your role will include maintaining, inspecting, and undertaking fault diagnosis of airframe, engine systems, and mechanical components and accessories on aircraft. This includes undercarriage, wheels and brakes, pressurization, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, engine control systems, and pressurization and environmental control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, inspect, and undertake fault diagnosis of airframe, engine systems, and mechanical components and accessories on aircraft
  • Rotate through various business areas applicable to the relevant trade, receiving hands-on training on Qantas Group and customer aircraft
  • Work with experienced engineers to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of aircraft
Requirements
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with an eagerness to learn a hands-on trade
  • High level of motivation and passion to want to be part of the aviation sector
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication skills
  • Excellent hand skills with the ability to use a variety of tooling
  • Australian Citizenship or hold Australian Permanent Residency Status
  • Ability to work all shift patterns
  • Must be available to start work from early 2025
