Position Overview
We are seeking qualified professionals to lead a specialized team focused on workplace relations, performance management, and conduct oversight.
Current and anticipated openings exist at the Assistant Director level within our team. Ideal candidates will possess experience in one or more of the following HR domains: workplace relations, performance management, or conduct oversight. A tertiary qualification in human resource management or law is advantageous but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality specialist guidance to senior management and provide technical advice and training to staff on a wide array of employment matters, intricate workplace relations issues, applicable legislation, and agreements.
- Identify, design, and implement innovative strategies to enhance departmental outcomes while managing complex and sensitive personnel matters, staff engagement, and workplace consultation.
- Represent the department in interactions with unions, tribunals, external jurisdictions, and other stakeholders to mitigate disputes or achieve favorable resolutions.
- Assist in the research, development, management, and execution of enterprise agreements, HR policies, and employment contracts, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and best practices.
- Lead, inspire, and foster commitment among team members to achieve a workplace relations focus that is responsive to contemporary issues and changes in workplace practices.
- Develop and sustain productive stakeholder relationships, effectively negotiating with key stakeholders including senior management, staff, industrial organizations, and external agencies.
- Prepare written materials, including executive briefs and corporate documentation, for review by senior staff in a dynamic environment.
Performance and Conduct Oversight:
- Provide expert advice to senior management and technical guidance to staff on a broad range of employment issues, complex performance, and conduct matters, as well as relevant legislation.
- Identify, design, and implement innovative strategies to enhance departmental outcomes while managing complex sensitive personnel matters, conduct integrity, and performance management.
- Conduct investigations related to the Code of Conduct and make recommendations to delegates, offering advice and guidance to staff and managers on intricate integrity and misconduct issues.
- Prepare written materials, including executive briefs, corporate documentation, findings of fact, and formal communications regarding employee conduct and performance for review by senior staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide expert advice to managers and staff on performance management and addressing underperformance.
