Operations Manager Position

Our transport and logistics division is seeking a skilled Operations Manager to lead our Road Express team in Mackay.

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday from 6am to 2:30pm.

  1. Optimize driver and equipment utilization by compiling loads.
  2. Organize vehicles to meet all orders and requests.
  3. Ensure vehicles comply with customer and freight requirements.
  4. Liaise with internal and external customers and provide advice on operational procedures.
  5. Prepare loading/unloading documentation, including manifests and compliance paperwork.
  6. Analyze contractor run sheets and delivery advices for performance management.
  7. Manage incidents involving drivers, including reports and investigations.
  8. Supervise drivers to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  9. Coordinate repairs and maintenance of company equipment.
  10. Participate in operational and occupational health and safety meetings.
  11. Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide accurate reports as needed.
  12. Maintain professional communication with stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership skills to guide staff effectively.
  • Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and resolve service issues.
  • Knowledge of multi-purpose fleet and equipment operations.
  • Understanding of geographical considerations in transportation.
  • Transport experience and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation are preferred but not mandatory.
