Energy Systems Specialist Opportunity

A senior control systems engineer position is available to support a wide range of energy projects including operational battery storage systems, wind farms under construction and gas-fired generation assets in design.

Location: Brisbane (flexible WFH 1–2 days per week)

Contract: 6 months initially (with potential to extend or transition to permanent)

Rate: $125 - $150 per hour (negotiable for the right candidate)

Start: ASAP

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to operational plants on control systems, networking, HMI and SCADA as well as associated OT activities
  • Lead and contribute to Operational Risks Assessment Activities
  • Manage OT infrastructure patching
  • Oversee Management of Change process: reviewing and approving contractor-suggested modifications, preparing Owner's ITP and testing requirements
  • Participate in Safety in Design activities (including HAZOP, CHAZOP, etc.)
  • Support specifications development and standardisation activities
  • Assist in design reviews for plants that are in design stage to ensure integration with CS systems
  • Participate in OT improvement initiatives (cybersecurity improvement, building knowledge base, OT uplift)
  • Update and maintain manuals, updating documentation based on actual design (as-builts)
Qualifications
  • 6+ years' experience in control systems engineering
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, HMI development and industrial networking
  • Background in functional/process safety and cybersecurity
  • Operational experience preferred; SEL RTAC experience highly regarded
