As a Control Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering industrial control and communication systems for electrical protection in power stations.

This exciting opportunity is part of our Generation & New Energy Team in Brisbane or Melbourne, where you will collaborate with talented professionals to assess and implement emerging energy generation solutions. You will apply your technical expertise across thermal and renewable power generation projects, including gas turbines (OCGT/CCGT), coal-fired, and hydro power stations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and delivery of control and instrumentation systems (PLC, DCS), functional safety systems (AS 61511), and EEHA-compliant designs.
  • Contribute to the development of control and protection system communications using industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP, OPC) and IEC 61850 networks.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers on secondary systems such as protection and excitation systems.
  • Perform electrical engineering analysis and ensure compliance with Australian Standards and relevant legislation.
  • Review and verify engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with a passion for control systems engineering. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Chartered status (CPEng) and registration (RPEQ, RPEV), or working towards.
  • Proven experience in thermal and renewable power generation projects.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex projects within consultancy environments.
  • Strong understanding of safety in design, risk management, and QA/OH&S systems.
  • Skilled in technical reporting, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring.
