Senior Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our expanding Safeguards Team in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
About the RoleThe Psychiatrist will provide medical leadership to this senior team, which prides itself on providing innovative, collaborative, and best practice time-limited care to children and young people aged 0-17 years who are experiencing acute mental distress.
- Provide medical leadership to the Safeguards Team.
- Work closely with the Team's Clinical Lead in building partnerships to ensure seamless provision of care for the population.
- Be actively involved in ongoing evaluation and development of the model of care.
The Safeguards Team is part of the well-established interdisciplinary Child Youth and Family Mental Health stream, with expertise and experience relevant to the position.
Essential RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will:
- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent as provided by the Health Insurance Act 1997.
- Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Demonstrated commitment to Continuing Professional Development and reflective practice.
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in providing effective, high-quality mental health services in a psychiatry setting.
- Demonstrated ability to support and work in collaboratively interprofessional contexts that include lived-experience professionals.
- Sound knowledge of psychiatry encompassing biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual domains.
