Procurement Officer Job Description:

\

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, expediting, and inventory management.

\

The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate procurement of goods and materials, negotiating and renegotiating agreements with suppliers, and managing relationships with vendors.

\

The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

\

The key responsibilities include:

\
  • \
  • Managing a wide variety of suppliers and establishing external supplier performance tracking\
  • Negotiating and/or renegotiating new and existing agreements or statements of work with high levels of complexity\
  • Working closely with dynamic teams of professionals\
  • Managing the relationship cycle with vendors that are most strategically significant to the company\
  • Establishing and maintaining measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities\
  • Reporting to management the measurable status of progress and corrective actions as it pertains to supplier performance\
  • Ensuring performance improvement and recovery plans are developed, issued, tracked, and reported on as required for supply base management and improvement\
  • Managing raw material flow to ensure inventory is maintained to the optimum level to support on time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels\
  • Leveraging global market exploitation, leveraging spend, and leveraging technologies to develop an overall vendor base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage\
  • Managing materials savings initiatives in line with profit plan and overall business objectives\
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain & Sourcing Manager\
  • Must have 3 to 5 years' experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft Navision preferred\
  • Experience with large Government contracts will be looked upon favorably\
  • Good working knowledge of inventory processes, and production flow\
  • Able to prioritise, manage multiple projects, and adhere to business-critical deadlines\
  • Self-motivated - Ability to work independently and in a team environment\
  • Effective at using data, logic, and instincts to identify opportunities, problems and execute solutions\
  • Trustworthy - Passionate dedication and ethical approach to all stakeholders\
  • Collaborative - Successful history of building relationships, evidence of being a well-respected, trusted partner, and someone others want to work with\
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication, and sales skills\
  • Proactive manner demonstrating interpersonal skills and conflict management\
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel\
  • Able to succeed in a high-performance team environment\
  • Accountable and delivers on commitments\
  • Able to identify new processes and procedures for continual improvement\
  • Highly articulate with excellent attention to detail\
  • A high level of organisational and time management skills\
