Procurement Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expertise that supports strategic business objectives, engaging with internal/external stakeholders to effectively manage supplier relationships.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage supplier relationships and oversee direct charge and inventory purchasing;
  • Address overdue orders and coordinate rotable and repairable item management;
  • Provide strategic support to achieve procurement goals and objectives;
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies and processes to meet business needs;
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and finance;
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities;
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management;
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, and team members to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the gold mining industry;
  • Proven track record of successfully managing procurement activities, including sourcing, contracting, and vendor management;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems, such as ERP and CRM platforms.
