Job Title: Procurement Specialist Job Description

We seek an experienced Procurement Specialist to drive category strategy and execution, enhance external supplier performance, and process compliance within purchasing activities.

This role involves sourcing, contracting, and managing existing suppliers, driving performance improvements focusing on quality, cost, securing supply & lead time, leading Common Agendas with strategic suppliers, and serving as a conduit between global, regional, and local teams for respective categories.

The ideal candidate will have proven sourcing management experience (8+ years) with contracting and supplier base management, project management experience, preferably global or international, change management, and business management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing category strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Managing external supplier performance to meet set objectives and targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with Supplier Management purchasing processes.
  • Tactical buying activities within purchasing activities of the Australian Market, with support to New Zealand when required.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven procurement experience, ideally within a global organisation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to present updates to leadership team members.
  • A strong continuous improvement focus.
  • Preferred not Essential: A mechanical or engineer background.
  • A professional procurement qualification.
