About the Role

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Service Transition Specialist to provide a critical role within Technology Solutions and Data Security.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a large and complex agile transformation program, where you will play a vital role as the connection point between delivery squads, stakeholders, and program leadership.

As a Senior Service Transition Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of releases, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and execute releases in alignment with the transformation strategy.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing release plans that align with the overall program roadmap and objectives, identifying release milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinating release activities across multiple teams, departments, and external partners to ensure smooth execution, scheduling release cycles, managing release calendars, and facilitating communication among stakeholders.
  • Identifying potential risks and dependencies that could impact release timelines or quality, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address risks and minimize disruptions.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrated experience working on a large ICT transformation program with a focus on program-wide release planning, coordination, and deployment activities.
  • Proven government experience with a strong understanding of governance protocols and ability to present technical content to executive audiences and governance forums.
  • Strong technical proficiency including solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and deployment automation tools.
  • Strong knowledge and experience operating within an agile delivery environment and proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • SAFe certifications are highly desirable.
  • Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Appropriate vocation qualifications and certifications, e.g., Project Management, Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service Management, or Change Management, are highly desirable.
