Our sleep laboratories are part of a well-established and growing medical specialist group, providing cardiac, vascular diagnostic imaging, and clinical services together with sleep and respiratory services. We operate seven nights a week, with outpatient evening shifts Monday to Friday creating significant flexibility and availability of shifts for the successful candidate.
This role requires our scientists to:
- Perform setup for in-lab sleep study patients including the application of electrodes and sensors to the patient.
- Set up patients for home-based sleep studies in our clinics.
- Interact with patients to explain testing and treatment procedures and ensure all relevant patient data is recorded accurately and comprehensively.
- Overnight monitoring of signals and ensuring the well-being of the patients.
- Scoring and analysis of polysomnographs, helping prepare provisional reports for our sleep physicians.
- For those with more experience, provide training and support for our other sleep technologists.
A degree in health sciences (or related field) is required for this role. Previous experience as a sleep scientist or sleep technologist is highly regarded but not required, as paid, in-house training will be provided; however, a willingness to learn and a commitment to providing excellent patient care is paramount to being successful in this position.
