Position OverviewThe Technical Advisory Services team at EnergyCo NSW is looking for a Senior Power System Analysis Engineer to lead a group of specialists in power system modelling. This role is essential for ensuring the effective integration of Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) infrastructure and maintaining a reliable energy supply for consumers through advanced modelling techniques. In addition to overseeing technical operations, you will manage the technical expertise required for power systems modelling and play a key role in the team's strategic growth and development. This senior position presents a unique opportunity to influence the future of renewable energy integration and make a meaningful contribution to the sustainable energy sector.
Candidate ProfileIdeal candidates for the Senior Power System Analysis Engineer position will demonstrate expertise in power system planning and analysis, utilizing tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, and PSCAD. Hands-on experience in leading the technical integration of REZ infrastructure, including the design of cost-effective network solutions and system strength infrastructure, is essential. Proficiency in collaborative planning for shared transmission infrastructure, along with power system modelling and analysis, is critical for optimizing various components of REZ infrastructure. Candidates should also exhibit the capability to conduct technical due diligence, enhance power system assessments through tool development, and guide the team in creating design specifications for new assets. Collaboration with network planning teams and industry experts is a vital aspect of this role.

Successful candidates will engage effectively with industry experts, leverage professional relationships, and perform power system analysis to deliver coordinated technical solutions. Responsibilities include power system analysis, alignment with Electricity Roadmap objectives, and addressing critical issues with higher management. Reporting directly to the Director of Power Systems, Technical Advisory Services, this role involves managing a team of up to two engineers. Candidates with experience in technical advisory roles, an understanding of policy and commercial factors, and knowledge of renewable energy integration will find this position both challenging and rewarding.
A valid driver's license and working rights in Australia are essential for the successful candidate.
Essential QualificationsA degree in electrical engineering or equivalent relevant experience is required.
About EnergyCoEnergyCo is tasked with delivering over 14 gigawatts of new transmission capacity, coordinated with renewable energy and storage, including five new REZs and two priority transmission infrastructure projects.
