You have the unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the transportation sector as a Heavy Rail Fleet Manager. In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with overseeing the strategic asset management of the Heavy Rail Fleet & Plant portfolio, ensuring safety, reliability, and sustainability across the entire lifecycle of fleet and plant assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Asset Management: Oversee the integrity, accuracy, compliance, and currency of the Asset Register for the Heavy Rail Fleet & Plant asset class.
  • Develop Strategic Plans: Assist in preparing evidence-based business cases, reports, and recommendations by analyzing data, assessing risks, evaluating costs, consulting relevant stakeholders, and proposing strategic asset custodian actions.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders: Work closely with senior leaders to develop and maintain an integrated investment plan that aligns with long-term infrastructure strategies, system reliability objectives, and funding limitations.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of long term Strategic Asset and Services Plans (TAM SASP) and Asset and Services Plans (TAM ASP), ensuring plans support safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
  • Provide Technical Assurance: Provide technical assurance across all aspects of asset performance, including safety, environmental compliance, maintenance effectiveness, and operational functionality.
  • Identify Opportunities: Identify and evaluate asset improvement opportunities, including adopting new technologies, upgrades, renewals, and divestments that enhance lifecycle value and address emerging operational and digital transformation needs.
  • Engage Governance Mechanisms: Engage with governance mechanisms as the designated asset owner, approving changes to program intent related to acquisition, sustainment, renewal, and divestment activities.
  • Strategic Advice: Provide strategic advice and final signoff as the 'voice of the owner' on governance matters, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

  • Managing Complex Operations: Managing the diverse operational and maintenance demands of a complex heavy rail fleet and plant asset base while ensuring compliance with evolving safety and environmental standards.
  • Balancing Sustainability: Balancing long-term asset sustainability with operational requirements in a dynamic environment.
