Asset Manager for Heavy Rail Fleet

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, compliance, and currency of the Asset Register for the Heavy Rail Fleet & Plant asset class.
  • Prepare evidence-based business cases, reports, and recommendations by analysing data, assessing risks, evaluating costs, consulting relevant stakeholders, and proposing strategic asset custodian actions.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and maintain an integrated investment plan that aligns with long-term infrastructure strategies, system reliability objectives, and funding limitations.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of long term Strategic Asset and Services Plans (TAM SASP) and Asset and Services Plans (TAM ASP), ensuring plans support safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
  • Key Challenges:
  • Establish effective collaboration and ways of working across the asset portfolio.
  • Manage operational and maintenance demands of a complex heavy rail fleet and plant asset base while ensuring compliance with evolving safety and environmental standards.
  • Balance long-term asset sustainability with operational requirements in a dynamic environment.
About You
  • Demonstrate ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Prove expertise in governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop analytical skills and experience developing data-driven business cases and strategic investment plans.
  • Communicate effectively and manage change in a complex environment.
  • Experience managing rolling stock and plant assets across their full lifecycle.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fleet systems and maintenance regimes.
  • Experience with digital fleet management tools and predictive analytics.
