About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our Psychiatric Emergency Care Team in the Emergency Department and Mental Health Telephone Triage. This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Psychologist to take on a leadership role in providing high-quality mental health care to consumers and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of mental health services, providing clinical supervision and guidance to staff.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, working collaboratively with consumers, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, identify treatment needs, and develop safety plans in collaboration with consumers and their support networks.
  • Provide education and support to consumers, carers, and healthcare staff on mental health conditions, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external services to ensure seamless care coordination and effective service delivery.
  • Monitor and maintain clinical systems and information management processes to support service delivery and quality improvement.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Clinical Psychology.
  • Minimum 4 years post-registration experience in mental health, with a strong background in acute adult services, triage, and emergency departments.
  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014, mental health conditions, and treatment options.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with internal and external services, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity.
