Maintenance Requests and Grounds Management

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Groundsperson to maintain the aesthetic and functional integrity of our college grounds on an ad-hoc basis. This position will cover staff members when they are on leave or out sick, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.

The successful applicant will have excellent time management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work well both independently and in a team environment. Experience in a school or trades environment is viewed favourably.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing maintenance requests through the helpdesk in the absence of the Property Manager.
  • Providing and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Maintaining the College grounds in a clean, healthy, tidy state for staff and students.
  • Assisting in setting up venues for College activities.

Terms of Employment:

  • A current Working with Children Check (WWC).
  • A current National Police Clearance from the Department of Education.
  • Annually complete the online Child Protection Procedures and Mandatory Reporting Training.
  • Holding or being working towards an Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.

Highly Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant experience in a grounds/maintenance team.
  • Experience working in a team environment with excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and high level of time management and organizational skills.
