Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Communications Radio Frequency Engineer to collaborate on the design, development, testing, and implementation of radio frequency (RF) communication systems for unmanned aircraft systems.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate RF components into larger systems, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development:
    • Selecting and specifying suitable components such as radios, antennas, and cable assemblies.
    • Developing link analysis/link budgets for digital datalinks.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Conducting thorough RF testing and measurements to validate system performance against specifications.
    • Supporting the analysis of test data and troubleshooting RF systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaboration:
    • Working effectively with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers.
    • Collaborating with external vendors and partners to source components and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Documentation:
    • Preparing comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
    • Maintaining accurate records of design changes and testing results.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensuring that all RF designs comply with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Project Management:
    • Participating in project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
    • Providing technical support during the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in RF engineering, preferably in communications systems.
  • Experience with RF simulation and design tools.
  • Solid understanding of RF principles, modulation techniques, and wireless communication.
  • Proficiency in using RF test equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
