The role of an RF Applications Specialist involves providing technical support and guidance to customers on the operation, maintenance, and inspection of tactical RF and IP networked systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing field and office-based technical support for RF communications tactical radio equipment in the HF, VHF, UHF, and SHF RF spectrum.
  • Guiding and training customers in establishing operational, maintenance, and inspection procedures and techniques.
  • Evaluating and analyzing technical applications of company products and competing equipment to meet customer needs.
  • Supporting the design of minor systems to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Conducting installs, configurations, operations, maintenance, repairs, or modifications of customer equipment or software.

Essential qualifications and skills include:

  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent.
  • Military Communications experience is mandatory.
  • Field engineering experience with tactical radio equipment including training, operation, fault finding, and basic maintenance of military communications equipment.
  • A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience are required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience is acceptable.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills to provide reports and briefings to the customer are essential.
