At the forefront of innovation, we seek a seasoned Radio Frequency Engineer to spearhead the design and development of cutting-edge RF communication systems for unmanned aircraft systems.


About the Role

This is an extraordinary opportunity to make your mark in the field of wireless communication technologies. As a Radio Frequency Engineer, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing RF communication systems that drive optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development:
  • Develop comprehensive RF system designs, including selecting and specifying components such as radios, antennas, and cable assemblies.
  • Conduct link analysis and create detailed link budgets for digital datalinks.
  1. Testing and Validation:
  • Execute thorough RF testing and measurements to verify system performance against specifications.
  • Analyze test data and troubleshoot RF systems to identify and resolve issues.
  1. Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate RF components into larger systems.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with external vendors and partners to source high-quality components and ensure compliance with specifications.
  1. Documentation:
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes and testing results.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all RF designs adhere to relevant regulatory standards and guidelines (e.g., ACMA, FCC, ETSI).
  1. Project Management:
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Provide expert technical support during the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in RF engineering, preferably in communications systems.
  • Proficiency in using RF simulation and design tools.
  • Thorough understanding of RF principles, modulation techniques, and wireless communication.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated experience in verification of equipment compliance to military E3 standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in management of RADHAZ.
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field.

Eligibility
  • Australian citizenship is required to meet defence security requirements.
  • Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
  • You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) in order to perform this role.
