Community Palliative Care Role Overview

Mercy Health is seeking a Community Palliative Care Registrar to join their team. This is a unique opportunity for an advanced RACP trainee to gain valuable experience in palliative care.

The role will involve providing holistic multidisciplinary care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, as well as complex symptom management at Werribee Mercy Hospital Inpatient unit. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive team of palliative care physicians who provide excellent supervision and teaching.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, focusing on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in education and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in palliative care.
Requirements:
  • AHPRA medical registration.
  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational, and communication skills.
  • A compassionate, flexible, and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
