About Us

We are a leading underground mining contractor with nearly 50 years of experience in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

We specialize in mechanized mining, shaft sinking, raise drilling, and boxhole boring, supported by our Kalgoorlie Services Centre.

Role Overview

This role is part of our Shaftsinking Division and reports directly to the Project Manager.

  • FIFO Roster via Perth: 15/13 days on site, 4 days off.
  • Cosmos Project: A key project for our company.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves:

  • Driving process improvement initiatives to enhance Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance.
  • Managing investigations into serious incidents, developing strategies to resolve workplace hazards, and implementing measures to reduce injuries through the HSE team.
  • Leading effective incident investigation processes.
  • Oversight of project corrective action requirements following internal and external audits, incidents, inspections, and other proactive or reactive processes.
  • Implementing new systems, policies, standards, procedures, etc. at domestic projects, ensuring effective communication and operation.
  • Ensuring site-specific procedures are appropriate, do not introduce unplanned risks, and meet RUC document control and document management requirements.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in HSE management within the resource sector, preferably in Underground Mining or Shaftsinking.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (e.g., Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent).
  • ICAM Lead Auditor training.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety standards, legislation, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with both corporate and site personnel.
