Operations Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the production team with day-to-day operations and finding sustainable solutions through problem-solving and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Design drilling, blasting, and production plans to optimize site performance.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure drill and blast designs meet site requirements.
- Regular time-in-field (3-4 times a swing) to monitor and improve drill and blast activities.
- Review drilling, blasting, and production plans as required to ensure compliance with site standards.
- Undertake QA/QC monitoring for production activities to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Undertake stope reconciliations/abandonments upon completion of projects.
- Manage and monitor the iKon III electronic blasting system to optimize site efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain quality data with respect to underground performance.
- Undertake projects necessary to improve processes and practices within the production team.
- Assist other Mining Engineering functions as required to achieve overall business goals.
- Conduct incident investigations and implement actions leading to continuous improvement of site safety performance.
- Complete hazard identification, rectification, and reporting in line with site requirements.
- Experience working in an underground, hard rock, metalliferous mine environment.
- Underground practical experience completed.
- Proven experience in drill and blast design in sub-level open stoping preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience in short-term scheduling preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve project outcomes.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Previous experience promoting safe production and processes.
- Proven ability to work effectively in office and underground environments.
- Well-developed Microsoft Office and Deswik suite software experience.
