Job Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of our volunteer program, supporting various administration aspects of our organization. This position demands a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills, a passion for sustainability, and the ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Volunteer Coordination: Confidently coordinate groups of volunteers, serving as the spokesperson for NRM, facilitating induction, and conveying the organization's mission and values. Provide support to volunteers in person, in calls, and in written form.
- Organize Group Volunteer Events: Seek and schedule volunteers, organize meals, book rooms, ensure WHS policies are adhered to, be the point of contact for volunteers on the day and prior, organize materials, and organize the workflow of volunteers.
- Volunteer Follow-Up: Coordinate distribution of information and follow-up with volunteers for timely updates and problem-solving.
- Volunteer Enrolment & Training: Review volunteer EOI, onboard, and allocate to appropriate assignments.
- Volunteer Tracking: Monitor and track volunteer activities for reporting and accountability.
- Material Ordering: Order, organize, and coordinate delivery of materials for volunteer kits.
- Administration: Provide administrative support to the NRM manager, maintain records, file management, create templates and processes, and provide accurate reporting.
- Drop Offs & Collections: Using your own vehicle, deliver materials, post supplies, pick up ad-hoc supplies, in Metropolitan Melbourne and surrounds.

- Love Working with Volunteers: You take pleasure in working with a diverse range of volunteers, ensuring their positive engagement and enriching experiences with NRM.
- A Positive Can-Do Attitude: You have an enthusiastic and proactive approach to your work. You are happy to jump in and help where necessary to ensure we meet our organizational objectives.
- Intermediate Computer Skills: You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and enjoy learning new systems.
- Excellent Communication Skills: You have strong and confident verbal and written communication. You effortlessly develop positive relationships.
- Strong Organisation: You have a high attention to detail and effective task and time management skills.
- Passion for Sustainability: You have a genuine interest in the environment and the work we do in sustainability.
- Supportive & Collaborative: You have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving: You are flexible and able to come up with ideas to problem-solve and inspired by continuous improvement.
