About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Platypus Watergardens store. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in leading a team of sales assistants and driving sales and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Store Operations: Ensure the efficient operation of the store, achieving optimal results in sales targets, KPIs, store presentation, visual merchandising, stock levels, wage control, and shrinkage.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and lead a team of sales assistants to achieve optimal results in KPIs and added value targets.
  • Sales and Customer Service: Closely monitor store sales, achieving daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly targets, and provide excellent customer service to customers.
  • Wage Management: Effectively manage wage costs in store, adhering to weekly wage targets and company rostering standards.
  • Training and Development: Coach and mentor sales assistants to maintain high team morale and encourage individual development, ensuring training and succession plans are in place.
  • OH&S Management: Ensure efficient OH&S management and adhere to state and national OH&S legislation.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience as a full-time or senior casual sales assistant, key holder, supervisor, or 3IC.
  • Attitude: A motivated and driven 'Make it Happen' attitude.
  • Leadership: A passion for leading and inspiring a team to succeed.
  • Operational Excellence: A proven track record in driving sales and meeting KPIs and targets.
  • Stock Control and Visual Merchandising: Operational excellence and experience with stock control and visual merchandising.
