Strategic Program Leader for Health Regulation

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-profile and technically complex program that directly impacts public health.

You will work within a dynamic team, leading a key program that contributes to the regulation of medicines in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management and want to make a difference in the healthcare sector.

The role will initially focus on delivering outcomes in the next 6 months and will later offer the chance to shape the future direction of the program, with the potential for an EL2 position afterward.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the program's strategy, managing the program scope, and monitoring progress against key activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the program
  • Develop and maintain detailed program plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Manage the program scope and monitor progress against key activities, proactively resolving issues and ensuring timely delivery
  • Report on program status to senior executives, including the Minister and the Secretary
  • Prepare a variety of written work such as briefs, policy papers, and communication materials

  • Ability to lead teams, making informed decisions in a complex and evolving environment
  • Proven experience in managing programs or projects from inception to completion with a track record of successful delivery
  • Strong experience in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and building productive relationships
