Paediatric Advanced Trainee Role

This position presents a unique opportunity for specialisation in the Bone Marrow Transplant, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Stream and/or the Neuro-Oncology and Solid Tumour Stream.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To undertake regular assessment and performance review, actively participate in unit-based educational programs and meet mandatory training requirements.
  • To contribute to Paediatric Oncology services throughout Queensland through clinical outreach services with consultant supervision.
  • Inpatient, outpatient and consultative clinical services in malignant haematology, bone marrow transplant, neuro-oncology and solid tumour oncology.
  • To work as part of the Oncology on-call and after-hours rosters, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Supervision and leadership of Junior Medical staff, including provision of performance management.
  • Participation in Paediatric Oncology meetings, preparation and presentation of content.
  • Documentation of patient care through completion of progress notes, correspondence and reports, including discharge planning and summaries.
  • Training and teaching of Junior Medical Staff, Medical Students and multidisciplinary team members, including departmental teaching programs and skills-based training.
  • Continuing professional development through attendance at national and international conferences relevant to Paediatric Oncology and Haematology.
  • Participation in research and quality assurance programs in areas relevant to Paediatric Oncology and Haematology.
