Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Systems Infrastructure Specialist to ensure the smooth operation of various projects, including Storage & Disaster Recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Login incidents, troubleshoot, report, and provide updates to system owners and end users on current issues.
  • Liaise with vendors and business owners on the installation of patches, bug fixes, and version upgrades.
  • Participate in the planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of appropriate Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans for all systems.
  • Ensure Backups & Recovery processes are in place and current for all systems.
  • Review/update system documentation in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Ensure all technologies are covered by Vendors' Support and/or Warranty Agreements.
  • Ensure all technologies are maintained at the required software release, firmware, and operating system levels to maintain full vendor support.

Required Skills & Specialisms:

  • Strong Storage & Disaster Recovery experience.
  • Implementing Storage & Disaster Recovery strategy is highly desirable.
  • Experience Linux and Hyper-V is a nice to have.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Working knowledge of Networking and Storage technologies.
  • A degree qualification in Computer Science, IT or related discipline is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with management on current issues or other matters of importance.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and update technical documentation.
  • Analytical and investigative skills.
  • Exposure to but not required: Elasticsearch ELK / Kibana, Shareplex, Business Objects, BIRT, Python, JavaScript, JBoss, Web Services, Quality Centre, Oracle 12c or above, MS SQL Server, PL/SQL.
