As Transport Director – APAC, you will lead our transport portfolio ensuring we deliver fit-for-purpose, commercially astute transport solutions across Australia and New Zealand, balancing in-house assets and outsourced services to meet customer needs and drive profitability.

  • Develop strategic and operational transport initiatives that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the management of Americold-owned fleet and assets to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Drive compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR standards to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Build strong relationships with carrier partners to foster collaboration and audit readiness.
  • Optimise Transport Management Systems (TMS) for enhanced visibility and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Finance and Business Development on pricing and tenders to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage Profit and Loss (P&L), budgeting, and reporting for transport operations to inform business decisions.
  • Identify and implement transport synergies and growth opportunities to enhance business performance.
  • Champion safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all transport activities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team fostering talent and succession planning.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Transport leadership experience with a focus on strategic planning, customer relationship management, and vendor partnership development.

  • 6–10 years' experience in transport operations across Australia and/or New Zealand.
  • Proven leadership in managing direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong customer relationship and vendor management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transport, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in CoR, NHVR compliance, or relevant transport safety standards.
  • Proficiency in TMS and logistics software.
  • Knowledge of cold chain logistics and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP).
