A major player in the solar industry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Proposals Engineer to lead high-impact bid development across cutting-edge energy projects.

This senior-level position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of the global energy transition, driving innovation and growth within a forward-thinking organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting compelling proposals that balance technical precision with commercial strategy, ensuring seamless handovers to the project delivery team and upholding the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of detailed, competitive proposals including scope, pricing, and terms
  • Reviewing customer RFQs and technical documentation to shape tailored solutions
  • Collaborating with sales, engineering, and project teams throughout the bid process
  • Coordinating site visits, supplier meetings, and subcontractor engagement
  • Supporting sales engineers during client interactions and presentations
  • Identifying and mitigating technical and commercial risks
  • Managing supplier and subcontractor RFQs and proposal documentation
  • Acting as the main point of contact for proposal-related client queries
  • Ensuring seamless handovers to the project delivery team
  • Reporting progress and insights to senior leadership
  • Driving continuous improvement across the proposals function
  • Upholding HSEQ standards across all proposal activities

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years' experience in technical proposals or engineering sales
  • Strong foundation in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
  • Proven track record in leading complex bids
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and negotiate commercial terms
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
